August 13-15, 2017 Louisiana Fishing Trip Report

The last several days I had Mike Roth down from Pennsylvania for some Louisiana Fly Fishing. Mike has been fly fishing with me for years, but never for the big Bull Redfish during the Summer. Fortunately, the weather was cooperative and he got to see just how good Summer fishing can be. Mike caught numerous Bull Redfish over 20 pounds on his fly rod, with most coming on surface flies. To say that Venice, Louisiana is the “Redfish Capital of the World”, is an understatement. It’s more like the “Redfish Capital of the Universe”.
