October 17-22, 2016 – Louisiana Fishing Trip Report

Had some good Louisiana Fly Fishing Trips for Louisiana Redfish this week. The weather continues to be unseasonably warm and the fish are somewhat stuck in their late Summer patterns, but we continue to make it happen. On good days we are getting 30-40 legitimate shots at fish, on slower days we get less than 20 shots. Drop me a line if you want to get in on the action or go to https://www.louisianafishingtrip.com for more information. We still have openings for November – December, and now booking for January – February.

October 3-4, 2016 – Louisiana Fishing Trip Report

Monday-Tuesday, I had a 2 day Louisiana Fly Fishing Trip for redfish. The winds were up and the water was a bit off-colored, but my guys managed to put several nice redfish in the boat each day. When the weather is stacked against you while fishing, it is smart to slow down and a take advantage of every opportunity. That fish you push past because you were moving too fast, may be your last opportunity for the day. For more information on fishing with us, give me a call at 504-382-2711.

September 29-30, 2016 – Louisiana Fishing Trip Report

A few days ago I had Randolph st. John and Jimmy Davis on a Louisiana fly fishing trip for redfish. I was actually only open to fish them the last day of a three-day trip, but luckily for me, and for them, that was the day that all hell broke loose. We had huge schools of 15 of 30 pound redfish swimming towards our boat all morning long,so you can just about guess at how good the action was. It is a special day when any angler can experience this, let alone two guys that have been friends forever and who love to fly fish. Thanks for fishing with us guys. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.

September 23-24, 2016 – Louisiana Fishing Trip Report

I had Brian Humphrey and his son Hall down for a Louisiana Fly Fishing Trip for redfish a few days back. The weather was beautiful and the fish were doing their thing. It’s always exciting to look up ahead of the boat in the early morning hours and see a small group of 5-10 reds tailing in gin clear water as they root through the grass in search of their morning breakfast. That never gets old. If you want to experience Louisiana with a real Louisiana guide, give me a call at 504-382-2711.

September 19-20, 2016 – Louisiana Fishing Trip Report

Gary Mintz came down from Colorado for a Louisiana Fly Fishing Trip for redfish. The fishing was as expected for late summer, with the best bite coming early in the morning before the heat made the fish go deep. Gary caught 10-15 fish each day with most falling victim to a Capt. Rich Waldner spoon fly. If you want to fish with experienced and knowledgeable captains who care about your overall experience please give us a try.

September 3-4, 2016 – Louisiana Fishing Trip Report

Saturday and Sunday I had Ryan Wolcott, his dad Paul and friend Bill down to do some Louisiana Redfishing. The big Louisiana Redfish had been getting a little break with tropical storm Hermine making the seas a little rough in some areas, but by Saturday, the seas had settled out nice and we had our way with the fish. We had several doubles, some triples, and numerous single hookups on both days. Only drawback was some thunder storms that blew up I our fishing area each day around 12:00, thus slowing the catching mid day, each day. This action will continue for the next several months, so if you’re interested in getting in on it, give me a call at 504-382-2711 for more information.

September 1-2, 2016 – Louisiana Fishing Trip Report

Yesterday I finished up a 3 day Louisiana Fly Fishing Trip with Lee Parris. On day 2 we had more high winds from Tropical Storm Hermine, but fortunately we were able to get into a nice mess of fish late in the day. Yesterday was a lot better with lower winds and clear skies, and the fish responded. Lee boated several nice reds on the fly early and we have a great day. Got a few days open before the fall rush if you want to get in on the action.

August 23-24, 2016 – Louisiana Fishing Trip Report

Tuesday and Wednesday I took some customers out Louisiana Redfishing for my good friend Capt. Ross Barkhurst. On day 1 we tried to start off fishing keeper sized redfish, but just could not get on a good bite. We caught a few, but it was reel slow. Thankfully, the big bull redfish were around like they typically are this time of year and we salvaged the day by getting on a late bite of these. On day 2, I asked them what they wanted to do, and the reply was, “Catch fish”. No Problem. It was on fire from the first stop, with triples and doubles for 3-4 hours straight, before we go ran off by some bad weather. If you want to get into this type of action, now is the time. We will continue to catch these big bull redfish for the next several months.

August 19, 2016 – Louisiana Fishing Trip Report

This past Friday I had Jason Edwards and his friend Jason Bronner on the boat with me for a Louisiana Redfishing trip. Didn’t spend much time taking pictures. The action was just way to fast to pause and take pictures! Needless to say, the guys got their fill of big Louisiana Redfish. I still have a few days open before the fall rush begins.
